I plan to read over the Anthropic S-1 when I get some concentrated time, but I was curious about one figure, so I took a look. I wanted to know how much cash (or equivalents) the company has on hand. I found the consolidated balance sheet on page F-5, and it lists the following as of June 30, 2026:

• Cash and cash equivalents: $112.4B
• Short-term investments: $19.3B
• Restricted cash: $2.5B

Add it all up and it’s ~$134B in cash on hand. That’s a ton of cash! For comparison’s sake, Berkshire Hathaway has a little more than $360B in cash, which is one of the, if not the, largest cash positions of a public company.

Now, everything is relative. Anthropic has a ton of cash, but I don’t have a complete picture of the rest of its financials, so I don’t know if its cash is sufficient to last years or months. When I read the entire document, I’ll get a clearer picture of the full financial picture and how the cash plays into it.
