I’ve been tracking Trump Accounts for the last few months. See more here and here. I view these accounts as a first-of-their-kind way to transfer individual equity to a broad segment of the US population, which could have a material impact on the US stock market.

Another donation of an individual stock from a wealthy person was recently announced. Gwynne Shotwell, president of SpaceX, is personally donating one share each to roughly 2 million Trump Accounts that meet certain criteria. Eligible accounts will receive Shotwell’s donation next month, according to CNBC (see here). Keep in mind, this is in addition to Elon Musk’s announcement last month (see here).

Trump accounts are taking off, as are individual stock donations by wealthy individuals. We’ve never seen anything like this before, so I’m really curious and will continue following developments and thinking about how this could impact the markets.
